John has been the Burgess (Mayor) of Middletown since 2002 and served on the Town Commission since 1992. Burgess Miller is a past officer of the Frederick MML Chapter and is currently the district representative to the Maryland Mayor’s Association. John is a member of the LGIT Claims Committee. John has been a resident of the Middletown Valley since 1962. Attended Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV and earned a B.A. in Secondary Education in 1979. He also holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Hood College. John has been employed as a teacher for Frederick County Public Schools since 1979 and currently teaches Government at Middletown High School.
