Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Program
Vehicle accidents in the line of duty can lead to high costs
in lives and money. That is why LGIT pays for selected member
agencies law enforcement officers to attend emergency vehicle
operations courses (EVOC) offered by the Maryland Police &
Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC) in Sykesville, MD. The
$150 registration fee as well as auto physical damage insurance
is paid for by LGIT.
The course is designed for law enforcement personnel with prior
training in emergency/pursuit vehicle operations. Lecture presentations
followed by practical exercises will refresh and enhance previously
learned skills. The curriculum is devoted to enhancing the students
attitude, techniques and skills that are required during patrol
operations including emergency/pursuit operation of a police motor
vehicle.
LGIT invites member agency law enforcement executives to provide
the names of officers that would benefit from EVOC training. Officers
that have the greatest need for training based on accident frequency,
severity and type will be given preference. Please contact Lieutenant
Al Liebno, Administrator, Driver Training Facility, MPCTC at 410-549-5732
